Netflix Original Series 2023

Netflix Original series 2023 are projects created by Netflix or with Netflix’s involvement. A Netflix film is any film available on the Netflix platform. As part of Netflix Originals, Netflix films can also be categorized as Netflix films. More than 190 countries offer Netflix’s streaming service. Netflix Original Series

The Punisher (2017–2019)

The Punisher is an American television series based on the Marvel Comics character Punisher, created by Steve Lightfoot for Netflix. There is continuity between the franchise’s films and other television series as it takes place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This series is based on Marvel Netflix’s first series, Daredevil (2015-2018).

The first season of the show was released on Netflix on November 17, 2017, and the next season was released on January 18, 2019. Primetime Creative Arts Emmy nominations were made for the show despite mixed reviews. The Punisher was canceled by Netflix on February 18, 2019. In March 2022, Disney regained the rights to all Marvel Netflix series, so they were removed from Netflix. 

House of Cards (2013–2018)

From the list of Netflix original series the House of Cards was created by Beau Willimon. It is an adaptation of BBC’s 1990 series of the same name based on Michael Dobbs’ 1989 novel of the same name. This marks the first television series that was produced by a studio specifically for the company. 

The series, which received several awards and nominations, including Primetime Emmy nominations, was well received. Aside from being nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress and Outstanding Drama Series, Wright is also nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor. Emmy nominations were given to this series for the first time for an original online streaming television show. Wright and Spacey both won Golden Globes in 2014 and 2015, respectively for Best Actress – Television Series Drama.

Better Call Saul (2015–2022)

Vince Gilligan created the American crime series Better Call Saul. In addition to serving as a prequel, sequel, and spin-off, Gilligan’s previous show, Breaking Bad, is a prequel, and sequel. It focuses on an earnest lawyer and former con man named Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) who becomes egocentric criminal defence attorney Saul Goodman in the early 2000s. Jonathan Banks plays Mike Ehrmantraut (a retired police officer who becomes a career criminal in order to provide for his granddaughter and her widowed mother.

Jimmy struggles financially at the beginning of the series while taking on low-paying cases, including cases appointed by the court. In a nail salon back room, which is also his office, he lives. Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn), his former colleague and romantic interest, is an attorney at Hamlin, Hamlin & McGill (HHM) a law firm run by Jimmy’s brother and Howard Hamlin’s partner, both of whom are ill. 

Daredevil (2015–2018)

Daredevil is a television series produced by Drew Goddard, based on the Marvel Comics character Daredevil. Considering the continuity of the films in the franchise, the series is set in the MCU. A crossover miniseries based on The Defenders was the first Marvel Netflix series to draw viewers in. Marvel Television produced Daredevil in association with ABC Studios. In the third season, Erik Oleson takes over as showrunner. For the first two seasons, Steven S. DeKnight served as showrunner. A co-showrunner was Doug Petrie and a co-showrunner was Marco Ramirez.

Orange Is the New Black (2013–2019)

Netflix original series comedy Orange Is The New Black is created and starred by Jenji Kohan and written by Piper Kerman about her experiences at the Federal Correctional Institution Danbury. The series was inspired by her experiences there. Lionsgate Television, Tilted Productions, and Netflix launched Orange Are the New Black on July 11, 2013.

The show’s fifth, sixth, and seventh seasons were renewed in February 2016. Its final episode will air this week. In upstate New York, Piper Chapman, residing in New York City, has been sentenced to 15 months in Litchfield, a minimum-security facility for women. A suitcase containing drug money was transported to Chapman by her girlfriend Alex Vause an international drug smuggler. 

Berlin Station (2016–2019)

Olen Steinhauer is the creator of the drama television series Berlin Station. In addition to Richard Armitage and Rhys Ifans, Leland Orser, Michelle Forbes, and Richard Jenkins appear in the series. Its first two seasons were directed by Bradford Winters, and this season is directed by Jason Horwitch.

Epix premiered the first season of ten episodes on October 16, 2016. The second season of Berlin Station was renewed by Epix on November 17, 2016. The show premiered on October 15, 2017, and concluded its nine-episode run on December 3, 2017. 

El Chapo (2017–2018)

Netflix and Univision co-produced a television series about the life of Joaqun “El Chapo” Guzmán. Originally broadcast on Univision, the series premiered worldwide on Netflix on April 23, 2017. In this series, we follow Joaqun “El Chapo” Guzmán from his origins as a member of the Guadalajara Cartel in 1985, his rise to power as ruler of the Sinaloa Cartel, and his downfall. The series was renewed for a second season by Univision on May 12, 2017. In September 2017, season two premiered.

Shot in the Dark (2017)

In November 2017, Netflix premiered the documentary series Shot in the Dark. A stringer’s story in Los Angeles, California is the focus of season one’s eight episodes. The series focuses on three companies in the Los Angeles TV news market. The series follows stringers from OnScene.TV, Loud Labs LLC, and RMG News as they compete to get a shot that sells for news organizations. Over the course of the night, three freelance stringers photograph crime scenes, accidents, fires, and anything else they can sell to the media.

The Returned (2015)

Carlton Cuse is the creator of the television series The Returned, a supernatural drama. In the USA, it was aired as The Returned, based on the 2012 French series Les Revenants. Adapted in America, the series is centred on residents of a small town whose lives are changed when dead people reappear. The series pilot episode was written by Cuse and co-produced by Raelle Tucker. On June 15, 2015, A&E cancelled the series after one season, after premiering on March 9, 2015.

The Expanse (2015–2022)

Mark Fergus created the American science fiction series The Expanse based on the James novel. A colonized Solar System sets the scene for the series. There is a different group of characters following Chrisjen Avasarala detective Josephus Miller and ship officer James Holden. They are unaware of the terrorism, but expose it anyway and place themselves at the centre of a plot to destabilize the government. In addition, they are confronted with a crisis of faith due to the discovery of alien technology and they are the best Netflix original series.
