The station that has been home to the telephone diva for a long time is celebrating her eight decades in show business.
On this Monday, January 29, Susana Giménez celebrates her 80th birthday. Celebrates eight decades of existence, almost always connected to the show, as one of the greatest divas of Argentine theatre and television. In honor of this significant milestone, Telefe broadcast a greeting that touched on a number of her life’s most significant events.

The footage opens with a melody that is instantly recognizable it’s the same song that has been the curtain-raiser for Susana Giménez’s show for several years. As the diva’s visuals sequence sequentially play, the voice of another legendary Argentine diva, Mirtha Legrand, can be heard off-screen.
“There are proper names, names that are never forgotten, names that resonate in the emotional memory of everyone, shared by many, but those that a special person makes unique,” the luncheon hostess continues in this manner. There are numerous names, but there is only one Susanna.
From then on, a series of pictures capture some of the most memorable events from a career full of firsts and experiences that will always be ingrained in Argentines’ memories.

Some of the photos from the tape included Alberto Olmedo referencing her in an old recording, a message from the diva with Charly García, and another in which Ricardo Darín asks her, in a secretive tone, “How many boyfriends has it been since we have seen each other?!”
That tape features images of La Mary, Susana in a movie with Luis Sandrini, the beginnings of her popular TV shows, an episode of El Contra with Juan Carlos Calabro, and many more postcards. You can also hear the speech that Susana gave at Martín Fierro.
During that moment, she said, “It’s unbelievable how much I accomplished, but it went by quickly.” I had a good day, received praise and criticism, and was entertained, but most of all, I felt supported because of you. I’ve had an amazing life filled with wonderful experiences, and I hope to carry on like this for a few more years. I love you all, and I thank you for allowing me into your homes. I am so grateful for all of your love and light. I find it to be quite exciting!
