Jorgelina Cardoso

After posting a romantic message on social media for his wife and mother of his two daughters, Jorgelina Cardoso, Ángel Di María received a lot of love and support for the couple, who have been together for 15 years. One of those texts came from Evangelina Anderson, who made the Argentine national team member giggle by mispronouncing the date.

And after hearing such an expression of affection, the model mistakenly believed Jorgelina was celebrating her birthday and wished her a happy anniversary. However, the Benfica player corrected the wife of Martín Demichelis and laughing ensued.

“If I could choose you over and over again, I would.” I appreciate all that you do for me. For so many amazing times. For being the rock that never lets me or our daughters collapse,” Fideo said, writing, “You embody all that is admirable.” I will always and forever love you.

Evangelina is confused after hearing these words because she assumed the romantic post was the result of a special date. “How lovely! Jor, happy birthday! Eva wrote, “Have a beautiful day.” With a swift response, Di María said, “It’s not the birthday, hahahaha.”

Ángel Di María and Jorgelina Cardoso’s love tale

2009 saw the meeting of Ángel Di María and Jorgelina Cardoso via the football player’s cousin. Since he had already arrived in Europe and was sporting the Benfica shirt, they started communicating electronically.

The Rosario woman described how her love story started: “We met online because I was a big soccer fan. My team is Rosario Central, and I watched all the games. I went to the field, where he played, and I wrote to him as a fan.”

They courted over nearly two years apart: he in Europe, first in Portugal and later in Spain, where he wore the Real Madrid shirt, and she in Rosario, where she resided with her mother, father, and two brothers.

Lionel Messi Marriage

She relocated to the Old Continent in 2010 and they were married on July 30, 2011, in the Rosario Cathedral—the same venue used for the wedding of Lionel Messi and Antonela Roccuzzo, who were married six years later.

When Mía, the couple’s first child, arrived in 2013, her parents had to endure a very trying period. Born prematurely and weighing only one kilogram, she spent two months in the hospital before being released. Only then could the family get together at the house where Mía would take her first steps in threes. Jorgelina and Ángel’s second daughter, Pía, was born in Paris in 2017.
