Calista Flockhart Relationship
The actress made light of her husband’s well-known vices while reassuring fans that their ability to support one another is a major factor in their happy marriage.
Harrison Ford’s prosperous career was cultivated by forgoing smiles in front of and behind the camera. Because of his strong character, he has clashed with a number of the main characters and doesn’t often participate in the game where he has to peel back the layers of his everyday life.
But the rare times he discussed his wife, Calista Flockhart, in an interview or at a gathering, showed a more vulnerable side.
Kelly & Mark Podcast
On the Live With Kelly and Mark podcast on Wednesday, the 59-year-old actress from Ally McBeal talked candidly about her friendship with the star of the original Star Wars trilogy.
During her appearance at the Critics’ Choice Awards, when Ford, 81, received a lifetime achievement award, host Kelly Ripa made notice of it. “May I venture to say, you bring out the soft, tender side of Harrison Ford that we mortals may not always be aware of?” he said.
The actress didn’t think twice to answer, knowing the media game and playing it better than her spouse: “It’s because he’s afraid of me.” The Supergirl actress inferred in this way—both lightheartedly and gravely—that she is the one who makes the decisions behind closed doors.
Indiana Jones Saga
At the event Ripa mentioned, a video montage featuring clips from some of Ford’s best-known movies was shown before he was given a standing ovation when he got his prize.
The Indiana Jones saga’s main character said, “First of all, I am very happy to be here tonight to see what our business is becoming and to see all the talented people who are getting opportunities that probably would not have existed in the first part of my career.”
He then took a moment to speak about the woman who was always there in his life. I’d like to express my gratitude to my wonderful wife Calista Flockhart for always being there for me when I need her. He pointed out, “And the truth is, I need a lot of support.” The two were captured on camera crying at that same time.
In an interview following the event, Flockhart returned the favor by stating, “It was something emotional.” His work is amazing, and he deserves all the praise he received. Thus, yes, I’m thrilled and proud of him.
Ryan Murphy’s New Series
The actress was asked which movie her husband preferred, and she couldn’t decide between Executive Secretary (1988) and The Mosquito Coast (1986). The actress told Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos, “I love Executive Secretary because it’s so funny, and Harrison is so funny; Surprisingly comical.”
At the premiere of Ryan Murphy‘s new series Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, which recreates the love-hate dynamic between the writer and the most influential women in Manhattan, Flockhart walked the red carpet by herself on Tuesday. There, the actress playing Jackie Kennedy’s sister, Lee Radziwill, is paired alongside Naomi Watts, Tom Hollander, Diane Lane, Chloe Sevigny, and Demi Moore.
Calista made it plain to the media while Ford was away: “He supports me a lot and in many ways.” She implied that she didn’t need her spouse to be walking behind her on the red carpet to sense his presence when she told People, “It’s a mutual thing.”
